Al-Shmoh Cultural Centre

Renovation and completion of the Al-Shmoh centre is ongoing and essential to provide consistent services to the 10 villages it serves. Although the centre is operational, there is an urgent need to complete the initial building works to maintain a safe and functional environment. For example, the second level of the building is incomplete, and it is hoped that this may provide accommodation and meeting space for those visiting the area, both international and domestic visitors.

Empowering Youth Through Education and Support

Educational support is provided through the work of the centre and includes summer schools, provision of school materials, such as the school bags and stationery pictured, and extracurricular activities. Your funding will help facilitate these very worthwhile programs.

Counseling for Children and Adults Amid Conflict

Counselling services for children and adults. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing conflict many Palestinians have mental health issues. Our work will help support the provision of professional help in these circumstances.

Land acquisition and agricultural initiatives

The Al-Shmoh centre is centrally located within an agricultural region of the Bethlehem district, therefore, supporting farmers to maintain their livelihoods is a core purpose of the Gundelia Trust. Funding shall be designated to buying and reinstating land previously unused which in turn will help the centre become self-sufficient economically as the centre’s crops are harvested annually.
